Traffic is flowing once more, and underground and under the pavement the sewer is also flowing once more. For the past several weeks, all motorists commercial vehicles were routed through Coushatta on Ringgold Avenue.
Late in the day on April first the barricades were removed and East Carroll Street (also known as US 84) was re-opened to traffic. Sewer repair work had concluded several days before and the very large hole in the street filled in and concreted over. Final clean-up and inspection by the state highway department took place earlier in the day Monday.
As the pictures show, there is now a large patch in the street. And there are no longer any barricades at the foot of the Red River bridge.
