Most people who follow Red River athletics would agree that Antron Williams is an outstanding athlete. He excelled in all sports and was a huge threat on the football field and basketball court. Now that hard work and conditioning will pay off with a college athletic scholarship.
This week Williams signed a basketball scholarship with Lincoln Trails Community College in Illinois. Social media posts congratulated Williams on being able to continue his education and basketball career.
Red River Head Football Coach Jeff Harper said, “He’s one of the best athletes I’ve coached.” Harper said Williams had numerous schools interested in him for both football and basketball.
Harper said, “He was a 1st year wide receiver who was selected 1st team all-district, all-area, & all-state. Antron is a gifted athlete and a great young man. This is a great opportunity for him to play at the next level. We are very proud of him.”
