
The national Veterans of Foreign Wars headquarters has notified the local post that it has earned the designation as an “All-American Post.” The post is being recognized next week at the VFW National Convention in Kansas City. And the post will be recognized at the next statewide gathering of the VFW in Louisiana.
Post 7287 Commander Barry McCoy and Quartermaster John Brewer met with Sheriff Glen Edwards to bring him the news. McCoy and members of the post who worked on completing all of the All-American requirements will be recognized at an upcoming post meeting.
Notification came from Rick Butler, the VFW National Membership Director. Butler said, “On behalf of Commander-in-Chief Fritz Mihelcic and the entire VFW Membership Department I would like to thank you for a job well done this past year. Through hard work and confronting many challenges head-on, we were able to accomplish great things.”
Post 7287 in Coushatta was one of 690 VFW posts across the country and one of ten posts in Louisiana to earn the distinction as an All-American Post for 2021-22.
