Minor Damage From Storms

A series of thunderstorms and rain showers moved through the parish last week.  The Red River Fire Department helped with clearing some of the downed trees and debris.  Some of the downed trees were still evident along roads this week.

On April 12th the Fire Department reported, “Multiple trees down on roadways across the parish and still heavy rainfall. If you have to be out on the roadways please drive with great caution. RRFD is working alongside of RRSO, Red River Police Jury and DOTD to clear roadways as soon as possible. RRFD would like to give a special thanks to the volunteers that responded as well as the RRSO Dispatchers on shift.

One reader sent the Journal a couple of photos of damage to utility poles in her area.
