ETC… for Wednesday, March 11th

Red River athlete Reagan Prosperie is now on the Louisiana College football team.  Prosperie notified The Journal that he is trying to raise $500 for the Wildcat Football 2020 Campaign.  Prosperie has a fundraising page on Facebook if you want more info.

The first outing of the spring for the Red River Golf Team will be today, Wednesday beginning at noon at the Coushatta Country Club.  It is the Ringgold tournament.  The Red River team has golfers ranging from fourth grade into high school.

With all the talk of the Presidential Primaries being held around the country, Louisiana is holding its Presidential Primary on Saturday April 4th.  Early voting will take place from March 21st through 28th except for Sunday.  Vote in the Registrar of Voters office in the courthouse. 

Spring brings the 4-H Fern Sale.  Members are raising money for summer camp by selling Boston, Macho and Asparagus Ferns in hanging baskets for $20.  Call 932-4342 to order.  Ferns will be available April 8th.

Basketball season has come to a close.  The Journal congratulates the high school teams for their accomplishments this year.  Red River’s Girls team was runner-up in Class 2-A.  The Boys team made it to the semi-finals.  Riverdale Academy’s Girls and boys both made it to the State A Tournament and the Overall Tournament.  The Journal also wishes to thank the businesses in our parish who backed local athletes all year long by sponsoring the Journal Sports broadcasts of football and basketball games.
