ETC… for Wednesday, November 27th

The local Office of Motor Vehicles remains closed.  A check with the state office on Thursday indicates no date has been set for the reopening.  Offices were shutdown statewide a week ago by a ransomware attack on the state’s computer systems.  Since then technicians have been working to bring computers back on line.  According to the state website the nearest OMV office that is open is Shreveport – 9310 Normandie Drive.

Happy Thanksgiving. School is out until Monday.   Banks and other facilities are closing on Thanksgiving day and observing altered holiday hours the rest of this week

Happy Thanksgiving from the Red River Parish Journal.  What are we thankful for?  YOU! The readers of the Journal are our greatest asset, our friends, and our neighbors.  Thank you for reading.  And thank you for contributing your pictures and stories.  The Journal has published nearly 2,500 stories since our first issue in February 2017, and that is just the beginning.  We’re thankful for you this holiday season.

The Journal is taking some time off this holiday season to spend time with family and friends.  We will publish on Friday, however we may not answer the phone or return emails at our regular speed.  So just notify us and we’ll respond before the weekend is over.
