Your health care is important and so is knowing what potential challenges may lie ahead. So the MLK Health Center & Pharmacy is launching the HEART Program in Red River Parish on November 13th. It will be held at Christus Coushatta Health Care Center located at 1635 Marvel Street in Coushatta.
The MLK Health Center & Pharmacy will host wellness events each month for adults identified to be at risk or struggling with chronic conditions. This will help you and your family prevent or manage chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
It is also a fun event in addition to the many health benefits. The MLK Health Center & Pharmacy have added these incentives for you to take part:
-$10 gift cards will be given to those who receive a mammogram or prostate screening
-$25 gift card give-a-ways will take place every 15 minutes beginning at 5:30
-Turkey give-a-ways will take place every 15 minutes beginning at 5:30
-Shreveport green will be giving away fresh greens and tasting demos
-Registered Dietitians will be available for nutrition counseling and will be providing an interactive thanksgiving dessert tasting with a recipe
-Ongoing Health Coaching sign-up will be available
-And Matt Huddleston of Hudd’s Sports Grill will be there with free jambalaya, fish strips and hushpuppies.
Free Screenings consist of: Mammograms, PSA (Prostate Screening), Glucose, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol (Lipid Panel) and HIV
Enrollment will take place through assessment clinics hosted every other month. The first assessment clinic will be November 13th from 4PM – 7PM at CHRISTUS Coushatta Health Care Center.
