Beast Feast Grilling Camp

These Red River 4-H girls, Madison Breedlove, Kaleigh Demery, and Johnari Duplantis, spent some time at Beast Feast grilling camp, a camp for 7-12th 4-H members.

They learned all about seasoning, knife skills, cuts of meat, plating, how to operate a grill, and much more! They also participated in a service project for the park.

The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Dept and LDWF also talked to them about water safety.

They started at the LA Tech Meat Lab and ended up at Jimmie Davis State Park.

When they weren’t preparing food or grilling, they enjoyed free time fishing, reading, and getting to know other 4-H members.

Their team won the best grilled chicken award at LA Tech and then the best teamwork at the final awards.

Kaleigh Demery won the Soux Chef award, an award given by Mr. Donny, who awarded her culinary and grilling skills!
