The National Weather Service at Shreveport said, “June 1 marks the official start of the Atlantic basin hurricane season, which runs through November 30th.
“The National Weather Service and its National Hurricane Center have an excellent website to help you get prepared: weather.gov/wrn/hurricane-preparedness. Don’t wait until the storm is on your doorstep to starting preparing.”
Meanwhile, Governor John Bel Edwards asked residents to get prepared. The Governor said, “As hurricane season officially starts, now is the time to get your game plan in place, which this year includes getting the COVID-19 vaccination.”
