Our teachers miss their students, Miss Guidry has a message to all of her students. 

Greetings to my Students,

I hope this note finds all of you and your families doing well. After almost forty-seven years of teaching and communicating with students, who knew that one day we would not be allowed to attend school because of something called Covid 19. Some of us are only fortunate enough to get to read about history or to have an opportunity to listen to someone tell us about history, who knew that we would actually get to participate in real history being made.

Being on an extended break seemed like a wonderful idea at first, but by the end of the second day, I was already missing the daily greetings with my students at our classroom door, and who knew I would even miss reminding a student or two to remove a hood.

I want you to know that I really do miss all of you; I miss insisting that you stay on task and that you get your work done on time, but who knew I would have to worry so much about your health and safety. I want you to feel free to do the work I have sent. Keeping your mind sharp would probably be a good thing, especially on a boring day. If you would like my feedback on any of your practice work, please send the assignments to me.

Most of all, please know that I do really care about each of you and about your future. I am praying for the safety of you and your family in these uncertain times. Who knew that I would be lonesome to see your shining faces in person.

Hopefully, while confined at home, you can slow down a little and do some interesting things or maybe even do something that you have not done in a long time. Today, I cleaned a string of fish caught by my young grandsons. I last cleaned a fish in 1991. Yes, I was a bit rusty. Of course, I have watched every old LSU football game I could find.

Please know that we can overcome anything with hard work. Make a promise that you will be kind to yourself and to others. Who knew that I would be asking you to follow all suggested guidelines to help keep you safe, but please, do be careful.
