Early Tuesday morning (June 13th) Red River Parish Sheriff Glen Edwards deployed Deputy Randy Thomas and K-9 Cephira to Allen Parish in southwest Louisiana. They joined numerous agencies and a variety of resources from around the state in efforts to locate the body of a missing 12 year old boy.
The child was believed to have drowned while swimming in the Calcasieu River near Oberlin two days earlier.
At approximately 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, the combined efforts paid off as divers located the boy’s body about 150 feet from where his family last saw him.
Sheriff Edwards sends his condolences to the family and hopes that the recovery will help provide closure.
