Vacation Bible School is happening at many Churches in the parish. The schedule is crowded next week with VBS going at Social Springs Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, and Open Door Fellowship. Check with the churches for times and dates.

It is hurricane season. There are two tropical storms developing in the Gulf and Atlantic. Keep an eye on the weather. One storm track prediction has it coming up through Louisiana later this week. Our area may get high winds and heavy rain.

Motorists who travel to Shreveport and I-49 via US 84 will face some traffic interruptions next week. A release from DOTD says “On Tuesday, June 27, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., one lane of the US 84 Bridge over Bayou Pierre, approximately 2.4 miles west of LA 1 will be closed for routine bridge inspection.

Alternate Route: This closure will allow vehicles 10 feet wide or smaller to pass through the bridge inspection zone. Larger vehicles must detour using I-49 to US 371 to LA 1.”
