Electric power has been restored to most Red River Parish residents. Both CLECO and SWEPCO have had crews working since the high winds moved through Sunday night.

Latest word from SWEPCO is that 103,000 thousand of their customers in northwest Louisiana lost power in the storm. In Red River Parish, SWEPCO expects to have the power back on to most of its customers by the time you read this.

CLECO said it had 15,000 customers who lost power. Those were also projected to be restored by late Thursday.

Cleanup efforts continue across Red River. People are pitching in to remove debris from homes and buildings. The power may be back, and that is certainly welcome, however the repair work for many is just beginning.
