Fishing season is underway for the Riverdale Bassmasters and Riverdale Junior Bassmasters, who competed in their first tournament of the 2026-27 season0.

In the high school division, Jase and Riley took first place after bringing in three fish weighing a total of 5.25 pounds. Brody and Eli finished second with four fish totaling 4.93 pounds.

The tournament was also a special day for the junior anglers. For many, it was their first time competing in a fishing tournament and their first experience fishing with a partner. The young anglers worked hard throughout the day as they began what organizers hope will be an exciting season on the water.
