The Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports program encompasses the goals of volunteer leadership, capacity building for youth and families, and the environmental stewardship with commitments from the Louisiana State University AgCenter. The 4-H Shooting Sports Program is an active program that is attractive to both youth and adults. The program uses positive learning and interaction with youth and adult role models. The disciplines are modeled after the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program and are administered by nationally certified-state leaders consisting of extension personnel and volunteers.

Red River Parish 4-H Shooting Sports is looking for adult volunteers to become coaches for our Shooting Sports Teams. We offer five disciplines: Rifle, Shotgun, BB, Archery and Hunting Skills. We need volunteers to be trained in all disciplines to continue our parish shooting sports program. Our program has been very successful with shooters placing at Regional and State level competitions. Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports has won at the National level for over six years. Free training classes will be given soon for all disciplines. If anyone would be interested in becoming a coach, we would love to give you more information on volunteering.
