Individuals interested in becoming a school bus driver will have an opportunity to earn the training needed for a rewarding career serving local students this summer.

The Louisiana Department of Education School Bus Driver Training Course will be offered July 13-16, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day at the Red River Parish School Board Office.

The course is free and open to anyone 21 years of age or older. It is designed for individuals who already possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), those interested in obtaining a CDL, or current CDL holders who need to add a school bus endorsement. Both part-time and full-time employment opportunities are available for qualified drivers.

School bus drivers play a vital role in ensuring students arrive safely to and from school each day while making a positive impact on the lives of children and families throughout the community.
