All three parish propositions pass overwhelmingly

Red River Parish voters delivered a clear message of support this election cycle as all three parish propositions passed by wide margins, thanks largely to strong participation during early voting and mail-in ballots. Although turnout at the polls on Election Day was low, early voters set the tone.

The Council on Aging proposition earned overwhelming approval, passing with 88% approval. This renewed support will help the COA continue providing essential services for seniors, including daily meals, transportation, social programs, and wellness initiatives that many residents depend on.

The Fire Protection proposition also passed with strong numbers, finishing 901 to 125. The measure ensures local fire departments can maintain equipment, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and continue offering reliable protection across the parish’s rural and residential areas.

The third proposition, supporting the Grand Bayou Reservoir, passed with 81% approval from voters. Community members noted that maintaining and improving the reservoir is important not only for recreation and tourism but also for the parish’s overall quality of life and long-term development.

These results reflect a community ready to invest in its future and committed to strengthening the services that matter most to local families.
