Emergency calls alerted first responders to a fire Saturday morning in a house on East Carroll St. across the street from Red River High School.

Although first responders and firefighters made all efforts to locate and rescue the resident of the house, the body of a deceased victim was discovered.

One deputy was treated for smoke inhalation as a result of rescue efforts.

City or Parish Officials have released no official identification.
