“Expand Energy has identified unexpected pressure on wells offsetting a company well site in Red River Parish, Louisiana. The company is working with local authorities, offset operators, and landowners to address the issue. As a precaution, the company is currently working with local officials to evacuate residents near the impacted wells and a portion of Highway 174 and Highway 1 have temporarily been closed. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”

 

Contact has been made with all residents in the affected area and accommodations provided for those choosing to evacuate.

 

A complete list of current road closures includes: Highway 1 and 371 Intersection / Highway 174 at I-49 and Highway 1 south at Hwy 485.

 

Anyone affected by this is asked to use an alternate route.
