Constitution Week Luncheon

Norma Lester

Six members of Coushatta Chute, the newest DAR Chapter in Louisiana, attended the NW District LSDAR Constitution Week Luncheon at Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport. As members entered, they were given pocket-sized Constitution booklets and were asked to sign Constitution posters.

Judge Jeff Cox, Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, was the featured speaker. He gave an overview of the Constitution from its beginning to the present day. Each member brought a bell. These bells rang out for freedom and to commemorate the signing of the Constitution.

Diann House, NW District Director, welcomed State Regent Cheryl Gott, who brought greetings and challenges for chapter service this year in the Louisiana Society. Several LSDAR State Officers and Chairmen were recognized. NW District Chapters include Bon Chasse, Cane River, Claiborne Parish, Coushatta Chute, Dorcheat-Bistineau, Francis Rebecca Harrison, Pelican, Sabine, St. Denis and Shreveport.
Co-chairmen for the luncheon were Tammy Andrews, Regent of Shreveport Chapter, and Paula Roper, Regent of Pelican Chapter.
