Riverdale Academy and the Coushatta VFW Post and Auxiliary 7287 have announced September Students of the Month. Each was presented with a certificate and gift card to a local restaurant.
The elementary student of the month is 3rd grader Dusten Litton. Dusten is a first year Riverdale student and is the son of Bo and Tiffany Litton. His favorite subject in school is math, and his favorite food is pizza. In his free time, he loves riding horses and roping. His teacher Mrs. Debbie Caskey said he is an all-around great young man who is a hard worker and is kind to others.
The 5th-8th grade student of the month is 5th grader Jace Baxley. Jace is the son of Brandon and Erica Baxley. Jace is an outdoorsman at heart. His favorite subject is PE, his favorite sport is football, and his favorite hobby is fishing. His teachers, Mrs. Katie Williamson and Mrs. Brittney Mancil, said that Jace is a very hard worker and has been putting forth great effort this year in the classroom.
The high school student of the month is freshman Haylee Guthrie. Haylee is the daughter of Brian and Amanda Guthrie, and her father is a former Riverdale student. All of Haylee’s teachers said she is a hard worker, not just in the classroom but in other areas as well. She is a photographer for the Rebel yearbook staff and can often be seen on the sidelines of Pee Wee and JV football games capturing memories. Her favorite subjects are civics and math, her favorite color is blue, and in her free time, she loves riding her horses. This is Haylee’s first full year at Riverdale, and she said she loves the atmosphere because it is more chill than her old school.
Congratulations to Dusten, Jace, and Haylee! Riverdale is proud of you all!
