It was a warm but beautiful night on Friday, September 10, as Riverdale Academy held it’s homecoming to honor the classes of 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001, and 2011, as well as other alumni that came home for the 50 Years of Excellence Reunion and Celebration.
Court presentation began at 6:30 p.m. with the tradition of the parade of maids around the track, followed by their field presentation.
Freshman maid was Lilly Grace Guillot, who is the daughter of Rick and Charla Long Guillot. Lilly was escorted by senior #14 Monroe McCarty and her dad, Rick Guillot.
Sophomore maid was Emily Grace Cason, who is the daughter of Joshua and Heather Nettles. Emily was escorted by her senior brothers, #50 Chandler Nettles and #77, Kaden Cason and by her dad, Joshua Nettles.
Junior Maid was Molly Elizabeth Seales, who is the daughter of James and Bethany Seales. Molly was escorted by her cousin, sophomore #62, Hayden Hillman and by her dad, James Seales.
Senior maid was Rylee Nicole Hodge, daughter of Jodi Hodge. Rylee was escorted by senior #4, Ty Jones and her paw paw, Joe Rachal.
Football sweetheart was Renee Morgan Prosperie, daughter of Carey and Donna Prosperie. Renee was escorted by senior #56 Denver Williams and her dad, Carey Prosperie.
Riverdale’s 2021 Homecoming Queen was Kenley Madalyn Loftin, daughter of Shaun Loftin and Stacey McWilliams Loftin. Kenley was escorted by senior #1 Jake Messenger and her dad, Shaun Loftin.
Crown bearer was first grader Layla Sneed, daughter of Kaylie and Silas Guidry and Kyle and Ashley Sneed. Football bearer was first grader Philip James “P.J.” Guidry, son of Ashley Giddings and Kaylie and Silas Guidry.
Following the presentation of the court, Mrs. Stacey Greer crowned Kenley in front of a packed stadium. About 30 minutes later was the kickoff of the annual homecoming football game. The Riverdale Rebels defeated the Briarfield Rebels by a score of 12-6. Many great memories were made, and it was an unforgettable evening at Riverdale Academy!
