The Red River Parish School Board heard a report Monday afternoon that the COVID situation in public schools is stable. Paula Clark is the schools’ COVID nurse. She told the board, “Even through the surge, the numbers look pretty stable.”
Clark said at present there is very little faculty involvement with COVID. She said, “There is a little bit at the Junior High with the dance line, so numbers are up there. Red River Elementary is good.”
“Schools are cleaning and doing what is needed,” said Clark. She added, “There is no transmission in schools. We can trace cases back to family members. It is community spread.”
Superintendent Alison Hughes noted that all head start staff is now required by law to be vaccinated.
