Mrs. Dickson was born February 13, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, LA and passed away January 7, 2021. Ms. Nell was known far and wide for her delicious homemade pound cakes. When a loved one or a friend passed away, she immediately baked her famous pound cake. She always enjoyed sharing them with both family and friends. It occurred so often that when Mr. Buck or Darlene walked in the kitchen and she was baking her pound cake, they immediately asked, “Who died?”
She was preceded in death by her husband, I. L. “Buck” Dickson; parents, Harvey and Blanche Anderson; one brother, Billy Ray Anderson; one sister, Dorothy Salter; and grandson, Adam Lee Perkins.
Mrs. Dickson is survived by one daughter, Darlene Dickson of Coushatta, LA; grandson, David Perkins and wife, Meaghan of Bossier City, LA; two great-grandsons, Adam and Kyle Perkins; one sister, Gerald Honea of Houma, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and her special extended family Ossie and Margaret Lewis.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to her loving caregivers, Paula, Renarda, Mary Lee, Mary McCray, Angie and Gloria.
The family requests memorials be made to the Riverdale Academy Adam Perkins Scholarship Fund, 100 Riverdale Road, Coushatta, LA 71019, or Springville Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 1023, Coushatta, LA 71019.
