At 9:55 a.m. on December 5, 2020 Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) deputies and Coushatta Police Department officer(s) responded to a report of gunshots fired in the vicinity of Christus Coushatta Hospital on Ringgold Avenue in Coushatta. Multiple reports received by Red River Parish Communications indicated that the suspect had exited a vehicle in the parking lot of the hospital and fired at a vehicle traveling past the hospital on Ringgold Avenue. Upon arrival, it was learned that the suspect had fled the scene immediately following the incident and no immediate threat remained.
Deputies with the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and assumed the lead in the investigation. It was determined that the incident was not a random act and resulted from an ongoing dispute between the victim and the suspect. At least one round struck the intended vehicle, however, no persons, including the victim were injured. The suspect was identified and an arrest warrant was secured.
Several hours later, the suspect surrendered herself to authorities and was taken into custody without incident. At 3:18 p.m., Antoria K. Johnson, B/F, age 22 of the 200 block of Patton St. in Coushatta, LA was booked into the Red River Parish Jail on one count each of the following: Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
On December 7, 2020 bond was set in the amount of $40,000. Johnson posted bond the same date and was released pending judicial process.
