Members of the Red River High Class of 2020 gathered Wednesday to practice for graduation. The Commencement Ceremony will be tonight (Friday, July 24th) at 7:00 pm. They assembled in the new stadium under threatening skies.
Principal JC Dickey and Darlene Martin explained the procedures for the graduates. They also explained the safety precautions that will be in place. Students will be seated six feet apart in the chair-back seats in the stands. Parents and guests will be seated on the football field.
A platform has been set up in front of the student seating area. This is where graduates will walk across to receive their diplomas. A separate platform has been set up in an area to the south, but on the first level of the stadium.
Commencement will be streamed live on The Journal and the school board’s Facebook pages.
