More COVID-19 Cases Reported in Red River

The Louisiana Department of Health reports an increase of cases of COVID-19 in Red River parish.  The total number of reported cases as of Tuesday at noon was 130.  That is up from 96 cases reported in The Journal last Wednesday.

The department also reported that 1604 tests have been given in the parish.  There is no indication from the health department if any of the 136 tests administered during the 4 days of drive through testing held in Coushatta two weeks ago are included in the count.  There is also no indication if any of the 34 case increase was a result of that testing program.

The good news is that the parish death toll from COVID-19 has not gone up.  The number of deaths attributed to the virus is at 9 where it has remained steady for several weeks.

Green Meadow Haven has reported two additional positives.  The last report from LDH on July 15th said that 1 resident and 2 staff members have tested positive.  Again no indication of the disposition of these individuals as far as requiring medical treatment was given.
