Graveside services for Charles David Rector, 58, of Hall Summit, LA will be held 1 P.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Springville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2020 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.
Mr. Rector was born May 9, 1961 in Bossier City, LA. On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, Charles David Rector “Charlie” passed away at the young age of 58 from complications of a stroke in January 2020. Charlie was the youngest of 4 children, and as a result, got away with everything because “he was the baby”. He graduated high school in Hall Summit, LA, where he still resided. He started working on oil rigs in 1983 and worked his way up to the position of Rig Manager when he retired in 2013. Charlie had such a young soul, a giving heart and a rebel spirit. He was generous and caring, some would say to a fault. He loved giving presents just as much as opening them, fishing in his pond, playing pool, shooting guns, playing games on his computers for days on end, grilling, listening to good old rock-n-roll, and most of all, eating. The last few years, he was determined to have a garden, despite his failing health.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Jean Rector; maternal grandparents, John E. and Barbara Kellogg; and paternal grandparents, Otis, Sr. and Bertha Rector.
Charlie is survived by his son, Charles Dylan Rector; daughter Bridget Walker and her children, Addison, Aubree and Aaron; one brother, Donald “Big Don” Rector; two sisters, Judy Rector Carter and Cathy Rector Stanford; nephew, Dr. Justin Stanford; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or charity of your choice.
