There is a house on Fair Street where ladies from the community gather each Monday morning. They make items for shut-ins, new and expectant mothers, cancer patients, and nursing home residents.
With all the rain this spring, the yard and shrubs were in need of a bit of care. Several regulars at the sewing house joined Tyler Hughes to do the work. Tyler’s grandmother told The Journal, “School is out, so he could do a little work.” The result was a pickup full of trimmings to be hauled away.
The result…a nice neat and trim appearance.
The program is Sewing God’s Love and is a project of First Baptist, First Methodist and Wesley Chapel churches. They meet each Monday at 9:30 am. Anyone wishing to sew, knit or crochet for others is invited.
