The Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office (RRPSO) and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission are seeking the public’s help in locating the owner of a malnourished horse.
On May 11, 2018 RRPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Bruce St. just south of Coushatta. The call was in reference to a stray horse that appeared to be in poor physical condition.
After observing its condition, deputies contacted a local agent with the Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission. The agent subsequently took possession of the animal and arranged for its transportation to the Red River Livestock barn in Armistead for temporary care and housing.
The horse appears to be a 2-year-old crossbred, bay colored stud with a white patch on its forehead (see photo).
