The Red River High School JROTC Awards Ceremony was held Tuesday night in the school auditorium. Cadets receiving national awards were Angel Smith and William Fields, Tuskegee Airmen; Alexis Keith, Scottish Rite; Shemarian Demery, Reserve Officer Association; Stephani Bradley, Military Order of World Wars; Teanna Eason, Military Officers Association; Skye Davis, Daedalian; Josiah Jackson, Air Force Association; and Kaylee Antilley, Purple Heart Leadership.
The awards given to the top grade level cadets were Kaitlyn Antilley, 9th grade; Josiah Jackson, 10th grade; Alexis Keith, 11th grade; and Kaylee Antilley, 12th grade.
Cadets receiving awards for Outstanding Leadership were Kaylee Antilley, Cadet Commander; Shemarian Demery, Drill Team Commander; Teanna Eason, Color Guard Commander; Alexis Keith, Rifle Team Commander; and Josiah Jackson, Saber Team Commander.
Kaylee Antilley is shown wearing the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. She becomes the forth cadet in the history of Red River High’s Air Force Junior ROTC program to earn the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Major Edwards explained that it is the highest rank that can be awarded a cadet at Red River.
