First Methodist Church has erected a new playground. It’s just in time for Vacation Bible School next month. The new equipment was donated by church members. They also put it together and installed it on the church back yard.

VBS at First Methodist will be June 18th through 21st. The program will be from 5:30 until 8:00 each evening.

The public playground at the town park is also due for renovation. The Town Council and Mayor have discussed renovation of the park, located across the street from the meat pie plant. Also under discussion is renovation work on the town ball fields next to the park. Mayor Cox recently told The Journal that they would be looking to make the improvements after renovation of Front Street is completed.
