Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday night at Cowboy Church. Program Coordinator Virgie Taylor supplied this article on “Finding Freedom.”

“Hello, my name is T. W. I struggle with anger and verbal abuse.

“I learned about Celebrate Recovery (CR) through my home church. When I realized it was not only for individuals who struggle with chemical dependency but life issues such as anger, I knew it was a place that could help me.

“Celebrate Recovery has helped me see how others deal with the same issues I do. I realize that I’m not alone in my struggles. The insight from others, who are at different stages of recovery, gives me assurance and hope that, through sharing our experiences, strengths and hopes and reliance on God, I can make it, too.

“I have learned that all of us can learn from each other no matter how long we have been in recovery if we remain honest, open and willing. I can help others by sharing what has helped me and learn new ways of coping from listening to them.”

Virgie Taylor, coordinator of the program said, “Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday evening at the Red River Cowboy Church. A meal is served at 5:30 p.m. Our large group starts at 6:00 p.m. Small group starts at 7:00 p.m. We are usually adjourned by 8:00 p.m. Childcare is provided. Come out and join us because ‘it works if you work it and you’re worth it so work it.’”
