Finding Freedom

RRPJ-Finding Freedom TOP-18Mar2

This article was submitted by the Celebrate Recovery program that meets each Monday at Red River Cowboy Church. If their group could help you, come to their meeting next Monday afternoon.

“Hello, my name is D. H. I have victory over alcohol and other addictions. I no longer struggle with the desire to drink or drug.” I learned about Celebrate Recovery (CR) in the Coushatta Citizen newspaper and have been with the group from the beginning.

“CR has helped me stay clean and sober for over 2 ½ years now. More importantly, I have learned that my area of struggle does not define who I am. I used alcohol, drugs and other addictions as negative coping skills for dealing with life. Best of all, this program led me to a personal relationship with God and, because of it, I can handle everything in my life differently without the “aid” of drugs or alcohol.

“If I could help others to believe in anything, it would be how much CR can change our life. The program offers help for hurts, hang-ups and habits – not only alcohol and drugs, but grief, anger, financial struggles, gambling, depression, sexual addictions, pornography and life issues – to name a few.

“In addition to the support, we learn how to have a personal relationship with our Higher Power – the one and only God of all.”

Celebrate Recovery meets every Monday evening at the Red River Cowboy Church. A meal is served at 5:30 p.m. Our large group starts at 6:00 p.m. Small group starts at 7:00 p.m. We are usually adjourned by 8:00 p.m. Childcare is provided.

Come out and join us because “it works if you work it and you’re worth it so work it”.
