Local Students Earn NSU Top Academic Honors


The lists of honor students at NSU has been published and Red River Parish students are doing exceptional college level work. These are the results form last fall.

Ten students from Red River Parish were among the six hundred and eighty-eight students were named to the Fall 2017 President’s List at Northwestern State University. Students on the list earned a grade point average of 4.0. Those named to the President’s List from the parish are
Kori Allen, Sydney Anderson, Debra Hanson, Karisma Jones, Cynthia Lawson, Allison Longino, Baley McAlexander, Shalondria Rainey, Jon Russell, and Jacob Shaver.

Eleven students from the parish were among the 1,175 students named to the NSU Dean’s List for the Fall 2017 semester. Students on the Dean’s List maintained a 3.5-3.99 grade point average. Red River students listed are Colton Campbell, Jameson Campbell, Elizabeth Cummins, Jon Hester, Sidney Jones, Lajustice Johnson, Aston Lester, Aaron Murray, Mikailah Smith, Precious Smith, and Lauren Young.

And there were ten Red River students among the 1,168 students named to the Fall 2017 Honor Roll at Northwestern State University. Students on the Honor Roll earned a grade point average of between 3.0 and 3.49. Those named to the Honor Roll from our parish are Janet Cogburn, Dillon Foshee, Christopher Grigg, Jason Gross, Tristen Jones, Emily King, William Lee, Keyairrowa Thomas, Mackenzie Williams, and Treasure Wilson.

The Journal congratulates all of the high achieving men and women from Red River Parish who are attending Northwestern State University.
