Red River Parish students are getting another day off because of the wintery weather. Temperatures are predicted to remain in the teens or twenties and only get above freezing after lunch on Wednesday.

Superintendent Alison Hughes notified The Journal that Red River Parish schools will remain closed on Wednesday (today). The wintery weather has kept the big yellow school busses parked at the bus barn.

That means that Riverdale Academy also will be closed on Wednesday, January 17th. And also the Council on Aging will remain closed. Director Liz Cannon said that they do not put their vehicles on the road when school is closed for inclement weather.
