Coushatta Police Chief, Kevin Stafford reports things are quieting down in the city. Stafford said, “Things seem to have quieted down following recent incidents.”

Stafford commended State Police for calling a meeting of law enforcement officers from all agencies involved in investigating recent shootings. Stafford said, “There will be counseling available to make sure our mental status is OK as we continue to provide services” to citizens.

Chief Stafford said that recent incidents of the shooting involving law officers, the shooting death of a Coushatta resident who had been reported missing, and a home invasion incident all are still under investigation.
