Coushatta Man Held on Bond Over $100,000


The weekly report from the Red River Sheriff’s Department lists Kenneth James Morse II of Salt Springs Road as being held of a bond of $101,500.00. He is charged in connection with the auto accident last Wednesday that left one pedestrian dead and another pedestrian injured.

Morse was arrested at the scene by Louisiana State Police after a vehicle struck and killed Rachelle Renee Barnett and injured Lacy Ross as the two were walking along a road in the parish. Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene. Ross was transported to a hospital and released following treatment.

Morse is being held in the Red River Parish Jail on charges of negligent homicide, vehicular negligent injuring, open container violation, and DWI first offense.
