Jeremy Key is back in Red River Parish after he fled to Texas when deputies attempted to arrest him on Attempted Murder and other charges in early June. Key is held under a one million dollar bond.

Here is the story from the Sheriff’s Office:
On June 28, 2017 two Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies traveled approximately 500 miles to Laredo, Texas to take custody of Jeremy D. Key from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office. Key waived extradition after being arrested on June 23, 2017 by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.

Key had been wanted for attempted second degree murder stemming from an incident in Red River Parish on June 1, 2017. As suspected, when arrested in Laredo, Key was in possession of a 2014 Dodge Charger reported stolen from the Martin community northeast of Coushatta on June 4, 2017.

On June 29, 2017 deputies transported Key back to Louisiana where he was booked into the Red River Parish Jail (RRPJ) without incident. In addition to Attempted Second Degree Murder, he was also charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and booked on fugitive warrants from Natchitoches Parish for Resisting an Officer and Unauthorized Use of a Moveable.

Bond was set at $1,000,000 and Key remains incarcerated in the RRPJ. The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office has also placed a hold on his release.
