Residents of Green Meadow Haven will have vacation bible school this June. It’s the inspiration of Sharon Adkins of Coushatta. And this is the seventh annual VBS Adkins has held at the nursing home.
“It was started to spark some memories” and Adkins added “and the residents have a good time too.” The three-day event is a chance for residents to relive Vacation Bible School they attended as youngsters.
Adkins said, “There will be music, arts and crafts, bible stories and refreshments.” Over the past seven years VBS has grown to involve many people in the community. A different church will bring refreshments each day. The “Sewing God’s Love” sewing group will do the arts and crafts activities. Speakers from area churches will tell their favorite bible stories. And local musicians will lead the singing of gospel and Sunday School songs.
The dates are June 21st through 23rd. VBS is held from 1:30 to 3:00 pm each day. Family members of Green Meadow Haven residents are invited to drop in and observe or take an active part in each day’s activities.
