Negotiations are underway to keep the Fred’s Pharmacy open. Pharmacist Ben Robert Jowers says it would not keep the name, but talks are underway with potential buyers to continue the business.

You have probably heard that Fred’s Pharmacy in Coushatta is closing, part of a nationwide restructuring of Fred’s including the purchase of many other pharmacies. Earlier it was announced that Fred’s would be closing about the end of February.

Jowers says a new pharmacy would have to be found to take over the customer’s prescription list. This assures customers they would continue to be served.

“I’m going to concentrate on marketing Ben’s Baby Butter utilizing our Facebook page” said Jowers. This story is developing as the deadline for Fred’s to close nears. The Journal will keep you informed.
