The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that beginning on Monday, October 19, 2026, the LA 515 bridge over Coushatta Bayou in Red River Parish will be closed until further notice.
This bridge is located approximately 1 mile north of the intersection with US 71, about five miles north of the Town of Coushatta. (see included map)
The bridge is being closed due to the condition of the structure for the safety of the traveling public, and will remain closed until such time that repairs or replacement can be developed and implemented.
Restrictions/Permits: Total road closure at the specified location. All vehicles will need to utilize an alternate route.
Alternate Route: Motorists may detour using US 71 and LA 514.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
