Springville Cemetery seeks wreath sponsors to honor Veterans

Springville Cemetery Association is continuing its tradition of honoring veterans through Wreaths Across America, partnering with the Coushatta Chute Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for the third consecutive year. The association has identified more than 275 veterans buried at Springville Cemetery, and its goal is to place a wreath on every veteran’s grave.

According to Association President Jerry Glover, the Veterans of Foreign Wars assisted in identifying veterans buried at the cemetery and documenting their grave locations. These efforts also made it possible for an American flag to be placed on every veteran’s grave for Veterans Day for the first time in the cemetery’s history.

The Wreaths Across America program has received strong support from veterans’ families and the community over the past two years. Many family members have participated in placing wreaths on their loved ones’ graves, helping make the annual observance a meaningful tradition of remembrance and gratitude.

This year, the association hopes to build on that support by securing enough sponsorships to honor every veteran resting at Springville Cemetery.

Family members, friends and community volunteers are invited to participate in the wreath-laying ceremony on Thursday, December 17, at 10 a.m. at Springville Cemetery. National Wreaths Across America Day will be observed on Saturday, December 19, 2026, with ceremonies taking place at thousands of locations across the country.

Community members can help the association reach its goal by sponsoring a wreath in honor of a veteran. To sponsor a wreath, visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/LA0106P.
