Red River Parish residents are invited to come together for Heroes in the Park, a community celebration set for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coushatta Ball Park.
The event will bring together local organizations, first responders and community resources while also recognizing September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Organizers are encouraging residents to gather for a day centered on support, connection, hope and unity.
Representatives from the Red River Parish Sheriff’s Office, fire department, police department, Overton Brooks VA Suicide Prevention, Council on Aging and area churches are expected to participate. Multiple resource vendors and speakers will also be on hand.
The day will include a DJ along with food vendors offering a variety of choices. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and spend some time visiting, eating and connecting with others in the community.
Heroes in the Park is presented by Better Together Veterans Support: Bridging the Gaps. For more information, contact Charlotte Collins at 318-617-4998 or Michael Braswell at 318-525-7040.
