The Red River Parish Library will host their monthly Bingo game today at 1pm.

The Red River Parish Rodeo will be Sept 18-19 at 7pm. Events include calf scramble, adult steer scramble, sheep scramble, hometown barrels and mutton bustin.

The Heroes in the Park community celebration will be held Sat Sept 19, at 10am at Coushatta Ball Park. Held in recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the event will bring the community together for a day of support, connection and fellowship. The celebration will feature food vendors, speakers, local law enforcement and fire departments, veterans and senior services, community churches, a DJ and more. The scheduled drawdown of Grand Bayou Reservoir began yesterday, Sept 8. The drawdown is being conducted to improve fisheries habitat, control giant salvinia and allow for repairs to structures on the lake. The reservoir will be lowered as much as four feet below normal pool stage, with water levels expected to fall approximately 4 to 10 inches per day. The control gates are scheduled to close Jan 4, 2027 allowing the reservoir to begin refilling in preparation for early-spring recreational activities.

Louisiana Tech broke program record for points in win over Northwestern State on Sat. The Dawgs beat the Demons 80-6.

LSU has the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, the Offensive Lineman of the Week and the Defensive Lineman of the Week. Sam Leavitt, Jordan Seaton, and Jordan Ross earned the honors after their outstanding play on Sat night in a commanding win over Clemson to kick off the 2026 season.

Miss Louisiana Shelby Bordelon takes runner up in the 2026 Miss America competition.
