Woman Church will be held Tue Sept 8 at The Shop in Martin at 6pm. Guest speaker will be Christine Gill and worship leader is Tracy Miller. A meal will be provided.

Local seniors are invited to enjoy food, fun and fellowship during the first All American Senior Fun Day on Wed Sept 9 from 10am to 1pm at the Jack & Laura Center, located at 1824 Front Street. It is open to adults 55 and older. The day will include activities, prizes and a free lunch for those attending. The event is hosted by Bristol Hospice and the Red River Council on Aging.

Local first responders are invited to a special lunch on Fri Sept 11 from 11am to 1pm in recognition of the 9/11 National Day of Service. Lunch may be picked up in the CBS parking lot during the event. The lunch is hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a way to serve and show appreciation for local first responders.

Starting Sept 15, commercial vehicle drivers will no longer need to submit a copy of their DOT medical certificate to the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles in connection with CDL issuance. DOT medical providers will now upload the certificates to the Federal Motor Carrier.

The Mansfield State Historic Site will host its first car show on Sat Sept 19, bringing together classic cars and local history for a day of “History Meets Horsepower.” Gates open to the public at 9am, with cannon firing demonstrations scheduled throughout the day and awards presented at 2pm. The show will conclude at 3pm. Registration for vehicle participants begins at 7am and closes at 11am.

Lainey Wilson is returning to host the 60th Annual CMA Awards on Nov 18. This will be here third year to host.
