Louisiana students and families have access to free academic help through Homework Louisiana, an online tutoring service offered by the State Library of Louisiana. The program provides one-on-one assistance from more than 4,000 vetted tutors in nearly 200 subjects, ranging from elementary reading and math to high school chemistry, college writing and standardized test preparation.
Tutoring is available seven days a week from 10 a.m. to midnight, with no appointment required. Students can connect from a public library, home computer or mobile device. Sessions take place in a secure online classroom using real-time chat, an interactive whiteboard and other shared learning tools. Spanish and Vietnamese language options are also available.
The service is not limited to K-12 students. College students and adult learners can also use Homework Louisiana for academic assistance, GED and HiSET preparation, ACT preparation, writing reviews and other learning resources. The program also offers career-related help, including resume assistance and practice interviews.
Homework Louisiana is provided by the State Library of Louisiana and powered by Tutor.com, a service of The Princeton Review. The program handled more than 40,000 tutoring sessions during 2024-25, according to the State Library.
Louisiana residents can access the free service by visiting HomeworkLA.org and selecting “Connect Now” to begin working with a tutor.
