Riley Jinks Memorial Rodeo Week returns with full slate of events

Rodeo fans can mark their calendars as the Riley Jinks Memorial Rodeo Week returns to Ringgold this September with a week of activities leading up to the annual LRCA Rodeo.

The week begins Sunday, Sept. 6, with a Sorting event at 7 p.m. Activities continue on Monday, Sept. 7, with Goat Tying at 6 p.m., followed by a Triathlon and Dummy Roping competition.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the community is invited to Church at the Arena at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Paul Daily with Wild Horse Ministries will break a young colt to be ridden during the event.

The rodeo action kicks into high gear on Thursday, Sept. 10, with Bulls & Barrels beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10, or attendees can purchase a $20 armband for access to the weekend rodeo events.

The LRCA Rodeo will take place Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m., with $10 admission. Rodeo Week concludes Saturday, Sept. 12, beginning with Breakaway Roping at 9 a.m., followed by the final night of the LRCA Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free for the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday events, giving families several opportunities to enjoy the festivities before the weekend rodeo begins.
