
Qualifying for Red River Parish elections ended Friday, with 12 of the 18 local races going uncontested
Luke Mitchell will continue as District Judge for the 39th Judicial District Court, and Julie Jones will continue as District Attorney.
School Board candidates qualifying without opposition are Melinda Hardy, District 1; Renee Hester, District 2; Reginald Prealow, District 6; and Joey Miller, District 7. Hardy and Prealow will serve second terms.
Justice of the Peace candidates qualifying without opposition are Jerry Clark, District A; Randy Thomas Jr., District B; and Michael Perkins, District C. Matthew Thomas qualified for Constable Justice of the Peace, District B.
Jason Briggs qualified for another term as mayor of Hall Summit. Kawndria Demery qualified as an alderman for the Village of Edgefield. Amelia Dyer, Willie Jiles Jr. and Barbara Moore Perrin qualified as aldermen for Hall Summit.
Contested School Board races are District 3, where Jacob Caldwell, Stephen Giddens and Rachal Henry qualified; District 4, where Alvester Barfield, Sharon Jenkins and Alan Miller qualified; and District 5, where Kenneth Bradley and Monique McDuffy-Jones qualified.
Tangela Maxwell and Cherlonda Raymond qualified for Constable Justice of the Peace, District A. No candidate qualified for Constable Justice of the Peace, District C.
The election will be held Nov. 3, 2026.
In federal races, Jamie Davis and Julia Letlow qualified for U.S. Senate. Candidates qualifying for the 4th Congressional District are Conrad Cable, Matt Gromlich, Gordon Heslop, Mike Johnson and Mike Nichols. John Atkins and James Edward Green also qualified for Public Service Commissioner.
