Riverdale Academy is preparing to welcome students back to campus for another exciting school year, with classes set to begin Friday, Aug. 7. The first day will be a half-day for students, while teachers will return earlier for staff development on Aug. 5-6 to prepare classrooms and finalize plans for the year.
Families will have an opportunity to kick off the school year at the annual Ice Cream Social on Thursday, Aug. 6, giving students and parents a chance to meet teachers, reconnect with friends and become familiar with classrooms before the first day of school. Incoming Pre-K and Kindergarten students will participate in testing on Aug. 7 and 10, with their first full day of classes scheduled for Aug. 11.
Throughout the fall semester, students can look forward to several special events, including Homecoming on Oct. 9, Senior Night on Oct. 23, and a College Day for juniors and seniors, with the date to be announced. Progress reports and report cards will be issued regularly to help families stay informed about student achievement, while Fall Break is scheduled for Oct. 12-16 and Thanksgiving Break for Nov. 23-27.
The spring semester begins Jan. 5, followed by Winter Break Feb. 15-19, the Northwest Literary Rally on March 20, and the State Literary Rally on April 17. Seniors will graduate on May 13, with Pre-K Graduation and the Junior Ring Ceremony taking place May 14, Kindergarten Graduation on May 18, and the last day of school set for May 20, which will also be a half-day for students.
Riverdale Academy administrators encourage families to review the school calendar, mark important dates and prepare for another year of academic excellence, extracurricular opportunities and school traditions as the Rebels begin the 2026-27 school year.
